yumアップデートを毎月実行したいのですが、実際には毎日実行しています。

理由の範囲内で、cron.hourly、cron.daily、cron.weekly、cron.monthlyの間を好きなように移動できます。

ただし、yumなどのパッケージマネージャーによってインストールされた構成ファイルを削除または移動すると、将来のシステムアップグレードで構成ファイルが再度追加される可能性があるため、注意してください。そのため、移動するときに、その場所に空のファイルを残したい場合があります...これにより、yumが今後上書きするのを防ぐことはできません。

通常、タイミングは/etc/crontabのエントリから構成されます。そこに何も見つからない場合は、/etc/cron.dのファイルを確認してください

たとえば、ubuntuサーバーでは、次を指定して構成されたデフォルトのcrontabがあります。
