Ruby on RailsでDateTimeを単純な日付に変換します

Dbにdatetime列があり、ユーザーに表示するときに単純な日付に変換したい。

どうやってやるの？

＃to_dateは存在しませんが、探しているのは

DateTime#to_dateはActiveSupportに存在します：

$ irb
>> DateTime.new.to_date

Ruby 1.9.2以降では、DateTimeに.to_date関数を追加しました。

このインスタンスメソッドは、1.8.7などの以前のバージョンには存在しないようです。

古いRuby（1.8.x）の場合：

myDate = Date.parse(myDateTime.to_s)

最初にエントリを文字列に変換してみてください。データベースの列タイプが日付である限り、日付としてフォーマットされます。
