TomcatのデフォルトのWebアプリ

Server.xmlファイルのHostの下にpath = ""属性を持つ "Context"要素を追加することで、それを行うことができました。

Tomcat/webapps/ROOTフォルダー(存在する場合)を削除し、WARファイルの名前をROOT.warに変更して再起動します。

webアプリの名前をROOT(Tomcatのデフォルトアプリ)に変更するか、ドメイン名とリダイレクトを処理できるWebサーバー(Apache httpserverなど)を使用して、サイトを設定できます。

最初のアプローチはあまりエレガントではありませんが、迅速かつ効率的です。
